Commemoration - refers to a ceremony where an event or person/s from the past are remembered e.g. ANZAC Day; Bastille Day; Anniversary of 9/11.
Special Days - refer to days that are about a person (e.g. Guy Fawkes; Queens Birthday), thing (e.g. Kite Day) or instance (e.g. Australia Day).
It should be noted that the above may cross over into other categories. For example, Bastille Day is a day of remembrance, but it is also a celebration.
